Monday, March 15th, 2010Happy Mothers Day!
Mother’s day is a funny day these days. It hasn’t been the same since 2005 when my mum passed away after a brief fight with cancer. It’s OK, this isn’t going to be a morose, depressing post…I hope. I usually buy a bunch of flowers to put on mums grave. It’s odd cause when you go to buy flowers on mothers day, there’s lots of people doing the same – buying bunches of supermarket flowers at inflated prices to take them round their mums for lunch. The checkout people always take the price off and ask if you want them wrapped – needless to say, I usually decline the offer of having them wrapped. There seems little point.

Monday, March 15th, 2010I stopped off at a pub for a quick pint the other day. I can’t remember where I’d been but I just had an urge for a nice pint of ale – the joys of being freelance
Was pretty nippy out. This is the best shot of about 5 I took that day. Pretty poor but hey, it’s a photo.

Sunday, March 14th, 2010OK, so this should be day 30 or something but as I’ve been bad at taking pics everyday and not wanting to cheat on this project, I am posting in sequence, even if they are days or weeks apart. I think this project should be Project 730!
Anyway, I went up to Brighton to visit my mate, Ed for his birthday and also to take a few bits of furniture up for him as he’s recently moved house and relocated from Bath. Ed has a lush flat, just off the sea front about 5 mins walk from the Pier. I had a great weekend and it was great to see Ed again and meet his new-ish girlfriend.
Here’s Ed:

The photo above was taken at 1am – 351s 10mm & f/18 ISO100.

Monday, March 8th, 2010I should have posted this weeks ago but didn’t really want to post it due to not really liking it very much. Still, I’m trying to make up for lost time on this project.

Monday, March 8th, 2010It’s been three weeks since I posted last. I’m not doing very well, am I? Busy work, server fiddling and a lack of inspiration and energy have meant that I’ve hardly touched my camera since the 16th of Feb. Taking on a photo a day project is a fair undertaking and it’s amazing the pressure that builds up when you aren’t getting it done.
I need a good kick up the backside and to get back on it. Thing is, I’m not sure if I should retrospectively post photos or to just start up again from now. I think I will post what photos I have taken and be better at using my camera everyday from today.
I took this the other day after working in the 3Sixty offices in Bristol. I finished work just after lunch and Pete (@markedup) recommended it as the weather was great and the light up there was very good. Thanks Pete!

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010It’s been a funny couple of weeks in a creative sense. I’ve been really quite busy work wise; working over in Bristol for a week on a short contract, which while it was good to be working with other people again, did sap me a little due to not being used to getting up at 6am – it’s been a while since I had to commute! I took my camera with me every day with the intention of getting some good shots around Bristol but I found I got nothing. I tried…found a nice graveyard with some old and gnarly gravestones, a really interesting place up in Clifton, but I couldn’t seem to get my eye in; My perception of light was awry, resulting in me getting my settings all wrong (I work in manual mode), taking badly composed shots and generally finding the whole process very frustrating. This seems to have been the case for the last two weeks and it almost feels as though I am new to this whole photography lark.

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010And fast forward a few days as I’d not been able (read ‘had no inspiration’) to get any shots and the few i did try to get were utter crap, so i ignored my 365 Project. This was taken on Saturday 13th Feb whilst at my dads house for my cousins birthday. My dads partner, Maggie, had made this rather epic Lemon Drizzle cake that was so begging to be devoured. I managed to hold off till after dinner…

Maggies awesome Lemon Drizzle cake.

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010Some flats I saw on my way to work when I was contracting at 3Sixty last week. Forgive the rubbish quality of this and the next couple of posts – My eye seems to be out at the moment. I have also been really bad with my 365 project and have only made two posts in the last 10 days. Hey ho, work gets in the way i guess.

Some flats near Clifton.

Friday, February 5th, 2010And here is my 14th photo of the project. Two weeks in and only 50 to go – that seems like a hell of a way away. I had a meeting about some freelance work over in Bristol today and of course, took my camera. This is obviously one shot I took there. OK, Im tired of typing. It’s all crap that’s in my head that I am typing out for reasons I am not sure of. I mean who wants to read shite like this? Look, it’s a picture I took, I like taking pictures.
